Vaçation aux Bruxelles!

We took Sunday off to visit the 50 year anniversary of the Great Exposition at the Atomium in Brussels. Including our old Merc there where more than 2000 oldtimers, bikes and army vehicles there...

May Flowers

Digging for victory...

Here's Koen, digging up the garden again, this time for gas pipes. Unfortunatly the gas company told us today that they can't come until 25th June!

Raising the roof

Here I am standing next to the slide that Koen made to shoot the tiles down on, in total there were enough tiles to fill this 1,22m x 2,22m trailer 6 times...

Finally blowing all the cobwebs away in the loft...

The old antenna which, with it's guide cables, caused so many problems on the old roof...

Topless roof waiting for 'Smeets Dakwerken' to arrive...

The new wood frame being put in place, 5 old beams were replaced with 7 larger ones to do away with the cross beams in the middle...

The under roofing is nailed onto the beams and the frame work for the roof plates is nailed on-top...

The new flues from Ubbink are put into position with lead collars and the double layered aluminium plates get nailed on...

The new zink gutters are in place and the fascias here and on the front of the house are clad in trespa...
...colour 9001

Where there used to be a fascia the roof is flush with the wall and covered with matching roof plates...

All done! Now we have to re-connect the gutters with cast iron pieces...
