The beginnng...

This is us on our wedding day 6 years ago in 2001...

After meeting on holiday in Tenerife (ldr!) and dating for 1 1/2 years we decided to tie the knot in Brentwood Registry Office (http://www.brentwood-council.gov.uk/images/img_102.jpg) and a reception followed at The Reid Rooms (http://www.thereidrooms.co.uk/index.htm)

Since then we have been living above Koens' parents René & Marie-Louise in their house in Heusden-Zolder, a small town/village in Limburg, East Belgium. http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?formtype=address&country=BE&addtohistory=&address=&city=heusden-zolder&zipcode=

After years of saving, deciding to build a house, buying a plot of land, deciding not to build a house, selling a plot of land we have finally completed the sale on this 1958 detached house! It's in a quiet street with a SW facing garden of approx 1100m2 with several mature trees but it is a serious renovation project! You name it it's getting changed, windows, doors, roof, floors, ceilings, electrics, plumbing, heating, bathroom, kitchen, knocking down walls and adding rooms. Hmm, does getting all this finished in a year seem a little optimistic, probably! Here you can follow our adventure, problems and hopefully succeses here!
