I've just removed the no follow code from my blog, join the movement and remove yours 
too!
All blog platforms (as default) have this dead-end code that stops links inside comments being crawled, remove it and we can all share some love and share some traffic!

I am really bloggy illiterate. What does this do for your blog and is it in your html that you edit it?
Yes you have to edit it in html. What the 'nofollow' command does is stop google recognising any links in the comments section, sometimes they record how many external links link to your site to help calculate page rank/ratings etc. So the more links you have over the web the better. If you remove this code your helping other bloggers out and it should encourage people to comment more on your blog if they know that they get something in return. Of course this 'could' increase spam but if you moderate your comments anyway...

Great idea. I'm doing some housekeeping on my site and hope to remove the no follow tag from my site blog, too...kudos!

Hi claire, I am so happy I was able to help you and your readers out with this and yes as you can see my blog has actually been gaining in the comments section... and so spam YAY!
I think this should be an option rather than change the HTML of your blog it should be something every blog can easily change from our dashboard... I guess there used to be a huge amount of spam on blogs at one time... I think we are an entire different blogging animal today then what it was a few years ago....
I personally know if it's a spammer and I check everyday so eventually the spammers will be removed from my blog :)

I can't find this code on my blogger html. I saw something that said only the 'new' blogger templates can remove it. Any ideas?

This is a great way to foster goodwill and get more comments. As you say though, one must moderate their comments to not be inundated with spam.

Hi, its nice to see one more spreading the benefit of link juice. I can't understand why many of them still stick to no follow, when there is no reason to do so except to stop spam which can be done by many other reason. Do follow also encourages the commentators to comment on the blog.
